25th February

Before half term , we finished filming our title sequence and we began our first rough cut . So this lesson we are finishing the rough cut based on the feedback we received from Louisa  and continuing on our blogging. If today goes as planned , then next week we will include titles into our sequence and hopefully finish.

Rough Cut Feedback

After showing Louisa our first rough cut she gave us some points as feedback and how to go about improving our title sequence. These were:

  • Include some establishing shots at the beginning of the surrounding Shoreditch areas
  • Reduce the length of some of the shots, although they may not feel as long when text is being used
  • Add transitions between each of the sections to establish the change in the chapter.

Filming Review- 11th February

Today on the 11th we completed our production schedule and will now start our editing procedures. We filmed initially in the back streets of Islington and then in a park nearby. We filmed the sections with Darnell and Samuel as Michael and Terrance, and Andrew and Oliver worked behind the camera.

Filming Progress

The first two filming sessions were successful filming 2 of the 3 key scenes, with the third to be completed on Wednesday the 11th of February. We also feel that the costume choices were very successful as they suited the image we were trying to create. Our location also suited our needs as we had exclusive access to the football pitch and to Oliver's house so we weren't once interrupted with the exception of the weather. As a result of the good location choices and costume choices we don't need to reshoot anything and are on-course to complete filming by Wednesday the 11th of February.

Samuel Individual input. 4th Feb

On the 4th Feb we went to Oliver's  house to film his part of the title sequence which was him sleeping and awaking due to the sound of his phone as her was late to meet Andrew. There were various of repeated shots from different shot angles e.g from the floor and stairs.

Oliver Blogging feedback

Here are some notes from my latest blogging health check on the the 1st February.
  • I was told to make some more blogs on how the production went and if we stuck with our original production schedule.
  • I also need to post a production diary detailing exactly what we shot including pictures and other updates from the production.
  • Also I was told to upload some other evidence from the filming of shots that I was proud of etc. and I am going to do this soon.

Our Storyboard

Oliver- Individual input: 4th February

On the 4th of Feb, in the day of filming at my house I was mainly in front of the camera as we were filming my section of the title sequence, however  I did help the others with setting up the shots, but it was hard to help set up shots and be acting in it at the same time.

Wednesday 4th February review

On wednesday the 4th of February we filmed all of the shots needed for Dan's (Oliver) section of the title sequence at Oliver's house in Leytonstone.  We feel as though production went very well this day as we managed to get all of the shots from our shot list, and after reviewing we are so happy with what we have produced from this day's filming.

Our Twitter Page

As part of our title sequence we have created a twitter page in order to generate awareness for the film. Our twitter handle is @ChemistryFilm and we have posted updates on the production process, including pictures of our locations and cast in action.

Wednesday 4th February Filming Expectations

On Wednesday 4th of February we expect to meet at Oliver's house in Leytonstone at 9 : 15 am. While in Oliver's home we will film the scene of Oliver  texting and receiving messages from the character of James. After we've finished filming for this scene we're going to film Darnell and Samuel's scene on the bus in Leytonstone and on the streets of Leyton and possibly Hackney.

Wednesday 28th January filming review

On the morning of wednesday the 28th of january we began filming our title sequence at Powerleague in Shoreditch where would would film Andrew's football sequences. I would class this day of filming as pretty successful, however there were some slight problems we had to deal with. A major issue was the weather that we had to deal with, because midway through filming we had to postpone filming for a while whilst we waited for the heavy rain to pass. Although reviewing the footage we are very happy with what we have produced, and we got some very good shots of Andrew playing football, however I felt as though some more establishing shots of the surrounding urban areas would be needed, which we hope to film on wednesday the 4th of february.

Task4 - Analyse two title sequences

Two Lane Blacktop (1971):
In this film , the first title you see is the film name which is 'Two Lane Blacktop''.

Then you see the different characters and the characters they are playing in the film. E.g. James Taylor as 'The Driver'

Then we see the photographic advisor.

After that we see who created the story and the screen play.

Then we see the producer , director .

Behind the credits , it looks like there is a car driving up the road which may indicate the film has many things to do with a moving car. The music is kind of old and sounds like a journey is taking place.

Scream Bacula Scream (1973):
As soon as the film starts you see a man who could be named as a 'Vampire' sucking a young females blood froM her neck.

Then the film name is introduced ''Scream Bacula Scream''

Then we see the characters in the film e.g 'Pam Grier''

Then it shows the director of the film , the editors and the post production.

Then the creator of the music played in the background and then the executive producer.

After that the screenplay and who created the story is introduced.

Then the producer and director.

Finally you see the 'base' of the film which is the house.

The sequence is an animation.
